These were usually only fitted to Bucklands, but a few later Saloons also had them.

Lots of older classics have rev-counter needles that wave up and down. Often, the solution is a complete new cable assembly. The solution is definitely not to oil the cable as this can lead to damage of the speedo it is connected to.

Therefore, please don't oil any of these cables, old or new. There is a special grease for them, but normally it should not require any.

The length of the inner cable and the sleeve are matched, which is why they should be renewed together.

Avoid tight bends as much as you can.
