Here is one end of the carpet that covers the upper part of the plywood bulkhead. It is almost rectangular except for the slight downwards curve at each bottom corner as seen here. To the lower edge is sewn a large sheet of leathercloth, which has almost completely rotted away on this illustrated example. That leathercloth sheet covers the underside of the alloy bulkhead along its horizontal section (under the battery etc.). This carpet is secured with tacks to the plywood. Note that the front shelf is screwed into place over this carpeting.
The above view shows how this carpet fits behind the bulkhead, but goes over the wiring cable.
